Your Process Server

Brent Hernandez

Registered California Process Server #2006 and Notary Public #2446864, based in Upland. Brent personally handles service across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.

Every attempt is documented with a photo, date, time, and GPS location, and you get a signed proof of service ready to file.

Ready for the SPARE Act (AB 747). Starting January 1, 2027, California requires process servers to photograph each attempt with the date, time, and GPS coordinates, and to make personal service attempts on three different days at three different times before substituted service. Wet Ink Notary already documents every attempt this way, so your service is well supported if a defendant later claims they were never served.

A proof of service signed by a registered process server is presumed true as to the facts it states (Evidence Code §647), and a registered server's fee is a recoverable cost (Code of Civil Procedure §1033.5).

FAQ

Process Serving Questions From Law Offices

Who can serve legal papers in California?+
Any adult who is at least 18 and not a party to the case can serve papers (Code of Civil Procedure §414.10). Using a registered process server adds two advantages: the proof of service carries a legal presumption that the facts in it are true (Evidence Code §647), and the fee is recoverable as a court cost (Code of Civil Procedure §1033.5).
What does the SPARE Act (AB 747) change for process service?+
Signed in October 2025 and taking effect January 1, 2027 for cases filed on or after that date, it requires a photo of each attempt showing the date, time, and GPS coordinates, and three personal service attempts on three different days at three different times before substituted service. Wet Ink Notary already documents every attempt this way.
How many attempts do you make?+
Standard service includes up to three attempts on different days and at different times, including evenings and weekends. Each attempt is logged with a photo, date, time, and GPS location.
What is substituted service?+
If the person cannot be personally served after reasonable diligence, papers can be left with a competent adult at their home or the person in charge at their workplace, followed by mailing a copy. Service is complete on the 10th day after mailing (Code of Civil Procedure §415.20).
What if the person is avoiding service?+
Brent can add skip tracing to find a current address and stakeouts to catch the person coming or going. The documented attempt log also supports a request to the court for another method of service if needed.
How fast can you serve?+
Standard service starts promptly after the order is confirmed. Rush service (24 to 48 hours) and same-day service are available when the schedule allows. Call or text (626) 248-0349 for anything urgent.
How do I get the proof of service?+
Once service is complete, you receive a signed proof of service with Brent's registration number and the attempt log, ready to file. Court filing at San Bernardino and Los Angeles County courts is available as an add-on.
Do you work with self-represented parties?+
Yes. Anyone who needs papers served can use this form. Brent cannot give legal advice or prepare legal forms, but he will serve your papers and provide the proof of service.
